Managing Email Accounts in cPanel

cPanel provides tools to create, modify, and remove email accounts associated with your domains. Each account can be accessed through webmail or a desktop email client, with controls for passwords, storage quotas, and delivery restrictions.

Creating an email account

1. Connectez-vous à votre compte cPanel.
2. Open the Tools page.
3. In the E-mail section, cliquez Comptes de messagerie.
4. Cliquez Créer.
5. Select the target domain from the Domaine menu.
6. Enter the mailbox name in the Username field.
7. Choose a password option and set or generate a strong password.
8. Cliquez Edit Settings under Optional Settings.
9. Set a mailbox quota or choose Illimité.
10. Enable automatic folder creation for plus addressing if required.
11. Optionally send a welcome message with client configuration details.
12. Cliquez Créer to finish.

Email accounts created here are available on standard cPanel hosting plans.

Modifying an email account

Account settings can be updated at any time.

1. Log in to cPanel and open Comptes de messagerie.
2. Find the mailbox and click Gérer.
3. Use Check Email to open webmail if needed.
4. Under Sécurité, set a new password.
5. Under Stockage, adjust the allocated quota.
6. Under Restrictions, enable or disable incoming mail, outgoing mail, or logins.
7. Update plus addressing preferences if required.
8. Cliquez Update Email Settings.

When changing a mailbox password, remember to update the password in any connected email client. For improved filtering and protection, consider integrating tools such as Experts en matière de spam.

Deleting an email account

Removing a mailbox permanently deletes all messages associated with it.

1. Log in to cPanel and open Comptes de messagerie.
2. Locate the mailbox and click Gérer.
3. Scroll to Delete Email Account.
4. Cliquez Delete Email Account and confirm.

Download any messages you need to keep before deletion, as recovery is not possible after removal.

Access methods and scaling considerations

Mailboxes can be accessed via webmail or configured in desktop and mobile clients. Accounts with higher mail volume or advanced routing needs may benefit from infrastructure such as serveurs cloud, which provide greater flexibility for mail services and storage growth.
