FTP access allows users to upload, download, and manage website files without accessing the full Plesk interface. In Plesk, you can create separate FTP accounts and restrict each one to a specific directory, which is useful when working with developers, designers, or external collaborators.

When FTP Accounts Are Useful
FTP accounts are typically created when:
- A developer needs access to website files only

Creating an FTP Account

Choose a home directory. This directory defines what the user can access.
Do not use / as the home directory unless full access to the entire website is required. Limiting access to a subdirectory is strongly recommended.
Set a password or use the password generator to create a strong one.

Modifying an FTP Account
FTP account settings can be updated at any time, such as changing the password or adjusting directory access.
