cPanel provides tools to create, modify, and remove email accounts associated with your domains. Each account can be accessed through webmail or a desktop email client, with controls for passwords, storage quotas, and delivery restrictions.
Creating an email account
- Log in to your cPanel account.
- Open the Tools page.
- In the Email section, click Email Accounts.
- Click Create.
- Select the target domain from the Domain menu.
- Enter the mailbox name in the Username field.
- Choose a password option and set or generate a strong password.
- Click Edit Settings under Optional Settings.
- Set a mailbox quota or choose Unlimited.
- Enable automatic folder creation for plus addressing if required.
- Optionally send a welcome message with client configuration details.
- Click Create to finish.

Email accounts created here are available on standard cPanel hosting plans.
Modifying an email account
Account settings can be updated at any time.
- Log in to cPanel and open Email Accounts.
- Find the mailbox and click Manage.
- Use Check Email to open webmail if needed.
- Under Security, set a new password.
- Under Storage, adjust the allocated quota.
- Under Restrictions, enable or disable incoming mail, outgoing mail, or logins.
- Update plus addressing preferences if required.
- Click Update Email Settings.

Deleting an email account
Removing a mailbox permanently deletes all messages associated with it.
- Log in to cPanel and open Email Accounts.
- Locate the mailbox and click Manage.
- Scroll to Delete Email Account.
- Click Delete Email Account and confirm.

Download any messages you need to keep before deletion, as recovery is not possible after removal.
Access methods and scaling considerations
Mailboxes can be accessed via webmail or configured in desktop and mobile clients. Accounts with higher mail volume or advanced routing needs may benefit from infrastructure such as cloud servers, which provide greater flexibility for mail services and storage growth.
