cPanel uses the contact information and preferences you define to send system alerts, security notices, and service-related notifications. Keeping these details accurate ensures that important messages are delivered even if your website experiences issues.
Accessing the Contact Information section
Contact details and notification preferences are managed from a single location inside cPanel.
- Log in to your cPanel account.
- Open the Tools page.
- In the Preferences section, click Contact Information.

Updating the primary email address
The primary contact email address is used for critical system notifications.
- Locate the primary email address field.
- Enter the new email address.
It is recommended to use an email address that is not hosted on the same account. This allows you to receive notifications even if the hosting service is temporarily unavailable.
Adding a secondary email address
A secondary email address can be used as an additional notification destination.
- Find the secondary email address field.
- Enter a valid and accessible email address.
Using multiple contact addresses improves delivery reliability for important account alerts, including billing and service notices related to payment methods.
Configuring contact preferences
cPanel allows you to choose which types of notifications are sent.
- Scroll to the Contact Preferences section.
- Select the checkboxes for the notifications you want to receive.
- Review the selected options carefully.

The updated settings take effect immediately and will be used for future notifications. For accounts hosting multiple websites or services, environments such as cloud servers may offer more advanced monitoring and notification options.
